Manufacturing Technician

Meriden, CT


As a Senior Team Technician, you will be responsible for the high-level troubleshooting, integration and testing of Canberra systems, in accordance with Manufacturing Standard Operating Procedures.  You will also be expected to assist engineers in the design, sustaining issue resolution and problem solving as required on your assigned products and to recommend changes to improve the safety, reliability quality and/or cost of these products.



  • Final assembly (i.e.: hardware, wiring and soldering).
  • Prelim and final test of completed products.
  • Q.A. function (make ready for shipment).
  • Comply with Quality Procedures.
  • Maintain schedule accuracies.
  • Visually inspect manufactured items for cosmetics, workmanship, soldering, conformance to drawings, and quality standards.
  • Investigate, research and identify components in error.
  • Ability to safely lift 501bs. with assistance.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Good soldering skills.
  • Knowledge of all assembly related hand tools.
  • Ability to identify components.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Mechanical assembly skills.
  • Knowledge of SAP and SharePoint.



  • Recognizes and communicates problems; creates deviation/variation notice, as appropriate.
  • May work from drawings, specifications, procedures, SWIs, electronic data, and written and verbal instructions.
  • May calibrate production inspection equipment, as needed, using calibration procedure, as applicable.
  • Move material and product in the work area by proper handling method. Keeps work area and equipment clean and orderly.
  • Properly handles hazardous materials.
  • Performs job duties in a safe manner.
  • Utilizes the principles of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Work closely with Engineering.



2-5 years of related experience.



At least one-year post-high school education in electronics, electrical engineering, or similar discipline, OR 3 year's electronics related experience.
