The Role

An exciting career opportunity has arisen for a Field Service Engineer to join our highly successful global company based in Seascale, Cumbria.

The talented individual we are seeking will provide support for installed analogue and digital CCTV, optics and lighting equipment, Radiological Protection Equipment (RPI) and Waste Assay Systems. The work will involve remote technical support and carrying out customer visits to complete installation, commissioning, calibration, routine testing and repairs.

As Field Service Engineer, you will require significant ability to operate, service, calibrate and repair sophisticated software and systems. You will be accountable for all areas of safety, quality, security and environmental requirements as well as day to day completion of work tasks. The role will require regular and close interaction with other members of the UK Services team locally, nationally and globally.

The position is based in Seascale and belongs to the Technologies Division EMEA/APAC reporting to the Site/Technical Leader – Seascale.

Key Responsibilities:

The Field Service Engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Installation, commissioning, inspection, calibration, testing and repair of bespoke CCTV systems in nuclear facilities, RPI equipment and Waste Assay Systems
  • Field Service, Technical Support and troubleshooting to support our customers.
  • Liaise at all levels and promote the services of the Company’s Service and Support activities.
  • Maintain accurate records where necessary to comply with the requirements of the Company’s QHSE registrations.
  • Ability to work unsupervised or as part of either a small team or a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Able to deal with and understand technically complex problems.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Field Service Engineer are:

  • Recognised electronics qualification is required.
  • Experience with installation and commissioning of single and multi-camera CCTV systems and associated equipment such as Quad Splitters and DVRs would be an advantage, but training will be provided.
  • Experience with installation and commissioning of Radiological Protection Equipment (RPI) and Waste Assay Systems would be an advantage, but training will be provided.
  • Experience of working on nuclear licensed sites, would be an advantage.
  • Essential to be British or EU passport holder as security clearance up to DV level will be required for this post.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
