In light of the continued escalation of the COVID-19 outbreak, we wanted to take a moment to communicate Mirion’s strategy to ensure the safety of our employees, customers, partners, and suppliers. Our efforts will be informed by guidance from the World Health Organization (“WHO”) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”), as well as local health authorities across Mirion’s global footprint. We recognize that this situation is evolving daily, requiring rapid updates to our approach to adapt to new challenges.

Here are the initial steps that we have taken to mitigate the impacts of the COVID-19 virus:

Globally

  • An executive task force has been in place since late February to coordinate communications with employees and production sites and manage our response to the outbreak overall.
  • Our supply chain teams around the world are in daily contact with critical suppliers to assess potential impacts to manufacturing and logistics.
  • We are constantly monitoring global inventories and safety stocks to mitigate risks to production and customer deliveries. So far, the primary impacts that we have experienced are modest shipping delays of 2 – 4 weeks for some components from China. Should the situation change, we will update affected customers as soon as possible.

Locally

We are employing a variety of tactics to reduce the risks of transmission at our offices and production facilities, including:

  • Restricting access at all our facilities to employees and essential vendors only.
  • Suspending all non-essential travel, making use of phone and video conferencing to the maximum extent possible.
  • Posting flyers indicating proper transmission control protocols issued by the WHO and CDC.
  • Enhancing sanitation protocols in common areas to include frequent wipe-downs of common areas and physical touch points (e.g. door handles and elevator buttons) with industrial grade disinfectants.
  • Instructing employees to make frequent use of hand sanitizer stations.
  • Enabling office-based employees to work from home.
  • Implementing alternative and staggered work schedules that enable essential onsite employees to decrease face-to-face interactions and increase the social distance of staff who must work in our manufacturing, shipping, operations, and technical departments.
  • Adapting onsite schedules and work from home policies to accommodate school closures and other disruptions.
  • Requiring employees who feel ill to stay home (employees exhibiting any symptoms at work are immediately sent home and encouraged to get tested).

Mirion is constantly monitoring local conditions for indications that office or site closures have become necessary. Today, our offices and manufacturing facilities remain open, using the preventative measures above.
