Cameras for Glass Melt Tanks

Glass furnace and melting tanks present a very challenging viewing environment for a camera system, but one which Mirion cameras have been designed specifically to cope with.

Operators need to see inside the melt tank in order to verify that the process is running safely and to verify that there is an even distribution of melting by viewing the molten glass surface, and to ensure there are no blockages or other issues with the glass feed.

Cameras are also used to inspect the refractory lining, looking for loose or missing bricks and the burner flames can be monitored to reduce flame to wall impingement.

Mirion LYNX and R640 cameras can be used for such applications and we fit them with the optional water-cooled lens and enclosure to permit the cameras to be deployed in areas of extremely high ambient temperature.
