Mirion and RAD-AID International
Since November 2023, Mirion has partnered with RAD-AID International, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving access to medical imaging and radiation medicine through education, international collaboration and partnerships with healthcare institutions.
Together, Mirion and RAD-AID support initiatives that promote the safe use of radiation technologies in healthcare systems worldwide.
Expanding Radiology Capabilities
Mirion launched its philanthropic partnership with RAD-AID International to enhance radiology and radiation safety in underserved regions around the world, expanding access to safe and effective imaging and therapeutics. In addition to introducing nuclear medicine and radiation therapy programs, this partnership provides local healthcare professionals with the tools and training they need to deliver safe, effective care.

Partnership in Action
Supporting Global Medical Physics Training
Mirion’s partnership with RAD-AID began with an in-kind donation to support RAD-AID’s Medical Physics Program. Through this initiative, Mirion equipment helps train healthcare professionals and supports the safe use of imaging and radiation technologies in low-resource settings.
Expanding Medical Physics Education in Kenya
Mirion supports RAD-AID’s medical physics education initiatives in Kenya, including mentorship for medical physicist Stacey Achoki at Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi. Through international training opportunities, hands on instruction using Mirion phantoms, and remote lectures, the program helps strengthen quality assurance practices and expand radiation safety expertise within local radiology services.
Supporting Safe Radiotherapy in Malawi
Mirion supports RAD-AID’s work in Malawi to advance safe radiation therapy services. A RAD-AID medical physics volunteer assisted with the launch of the country’s first public radiotherapy program at Kamuzu Central Hospital in 2025.
Supporting Cancer Treatment Access in Ethiopia
A Mirion donation supported a RAD-AID medical physicist’s visit to St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to assist with commissioning a new linear accelerator (LINAC). This visit helped support the hospital’s growing radiation therapy capabilities and access to more precise cancer care.
