The 2025 annual Mirion Connect brought record attendance to Orlando, Florida from July 28–August 1, uniting customers and partners from seven industries and eleven countries under the theme Innovation at Work. The event showcased Mirion’s commitment to advancing safety and innovation across nuclear power, civil defense, labs and research, and radiopharmaceuticals. New this year were two Nuclear Power Forums and dedicated tracks for Radiopharma and Research & Technology, alongside nineteen training courses and twenty-seven breakout sessions — delivering unmatched value to every attendee.

General Session Highlights

The session opened with Loic Eloy, President of the Mirion Technologies group, and Thomas Logan, Chairman and CEO of Mirion, who set the stage by emphasizing Mirion’s role in driving innovation during a time of rapid change for the nuclear and safety industries.

Keynote Speaker: Scott Claunch, President of TerraPower Isotopes, shared how the company is scaling production of Actinium-225, a rare but promising isotope for targeted cancer therapies, to help unlock the future of radiopharmaceutical treatment.

Guest Speaker: Joey Smiley, Principal Health Physicist at the Savannah River Site, highlighted the importance of rigorous radiation protection practices, continuous monitoring, and operational excellence to ensure safety in one of the nation’s most complex nuclear environments.

Innovation Showcase: James Cocks, Mirion Chief Technology Officer, highlighted new product and platform innovations designed to meet customer needs for efficiency, scalability, compliance and cybersecurity. These included CSPevo® Smart Probes powered by LightLink® technology, a significant evolution of portable radiation measurement offering robustness, versatility, and enhanced light collection.

Innovation Showcase: Shelia Webb, Mirion Chief Digital Officer, concluded with an introduction to the Vital® Platform and its first application, Vital SuperVision. This digital ecosystem enables real-time monitoring, unified data views, and workflow optimization — and represents major milestone in Mirion’s digital transformation strategy.

Technology & Innovation

The Technology Hub brought Mirion innovations to life, offering hands-on demonstrations of products and software with experts on site to answer questions. It opened with a lively welcome reception, where attendees networked while getting a first look at the latest Mirion solutions. Quick Spotlight Sessions throughout the week gave attendees an inside look at specific advancements, from detector technologies to digital platforms. Together, these experiences embodied the theme of Innovation at Work and showcased how Mirion continues to drive progress across industries through conversation and collaboration with our customers.

Tailored content ensured every sector found value at Mirion Connect 2025. By bringing together experts from across nuclear disciplines and industries, the conference created opportunities for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and practical problem-solving that attendees could take back to their own organizations.

For the nuclear power community, Mirion Connect 2025 delivered a robust program of training courses and breakout sessions tailored to safe, efficient plant operations, complemented by the debut of two Nuclear Power Forums.

For attendees from laboratories, universities, and research organizations, our inaugural Research & Technology Track brought experts from the IAEA, the CTBTO, and the University of Liverpool among others to share advances in areas such as ultra-sensitive nuclear debris detection, AI-driven nuclide identification, and novel spectroscopy methods.

The program was complemented by a Technical Poster Showcase, where researchers and students presented innovations ranging from predictive maintenance using AI to hyperspectral imaging and advanced detector designs.

Spotlight on Homeland Security & Defense

Mirion Connect 2025 featured a full Homeland Security Track designed for emergency responders, with three days of practical sessions, workshops, and hands-on product demonstrations.

Highlights included a comprehensive Radiation Safety for First Responders course led by The Haz Mat Guys, training on the SPIR Ecosystem of detection tools, and the interactive Source Safari, where teams applied their skills to locate hidden radioactive materials.

The inaugural Radiopharmaceutical Track debuted at Mirion Connect 2025, led by Steve Mettler, Mirion’s President of Capintec, and featuring experts from TerraPower Isotopes, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and NorthStar Medical Radioisotopes among others.

Spotlight on Radiopharma & Nuclear Medicine

Sessions addressed topics such as radioprotection, radionuclidic purity, nuclear pharmacy workflows, and innovations driving patient care. Mirion shared how our own solutions are supporting compliance, safety, and the delivery of next-generation nuclear medicine.

Looking Ahead

As Mirion Connect 2025 wrapped up, one message stood out: innovation is happening everywhere — in labs, on the front lines of defense, in nuclear plants, and in medical facilities worldwide. The energy, insights, and connections forged at this year’s event will carry forward into the year ahead.
