OSAS™-Multi

Dual-Station On-Site Assay System

OSAS-Multi (WM2601) is a dual-station gamma waste assay system that delivers flexible, high-throughput characterization of radioactive waste containers. A single detector assembly serves two independent measurement configurations: conveyor belt for batch assay of multiple drums up to 200L and large turntable for assay of larger container types.

Tag Features

  • Batch Assay with Walk-Away Operation:
Conveyor belt system allows multiple drums to be loaded and left to run automatically, including overnight operation, significantly increasing throughput
  • Large Container and High Dose-Rate Capability:
Secondary large turntable enables assay of oversized containers or drums measured at increased stand-off distances
  • Highly Flexible Geometry Support:
Calibrations can be defined for multiple drum types and a wide range of large or miscellaneous container geometries
  • Flexible Detector Configurations:
Detector tower can be configured with single or multiple HRGS (HPGe) or LRGS (NaI) detectors to match performance and cost requirements
  • Modular, Future-Ready Design:
Modular system components make OSAS-Multi easier to ship, upgrade, reconfigure, and adapt to future measurement needs
  • Fully Integrated Analysis Software:
Shared features and analysis software with NDA 2000 and Genie, fully integrated into a userfriendly interface

Description

The system extends the capabilities of the standard On-site Assay System (OSAS™) by combining batch assay with walk-away operation for various drums up to 200L drum-type containers and assay of large containers or non-standard containers in a single, flexible platform.

Built on Mirion’s proven ISOCS™-based calibration approach and NDA 2000™/Genie™ analysis environment, OSAS-Multi is well suited to sites requiring high throughput, minimal operator intervention, and configurable measurement geometries to support evolving waste streams.

OSAS-Multi increases assay throughput, reduces operator workload, and expands measurement capability beyond standard OSAS systems, while maintaining the flexibility to reconfigure and upgrade the system as operational requirements evolve.
