Built on the proven performance of Gas Flow Proportional Counters (GFPCs)—the long-established standard for alpha and beta measurement—the Series 6LB Gamma delivers low background and high-detection efficiency across a wide range of sample types, including air filters, water, smears, and soils.
The Series 6LB platform builds on decades of innovation, with roots tracing back to the original Canberra™/Tennelec™ systems developed in the 1970s. Designed as a direct replacement for the Series 5 XLB™, it incorporates modern enhancements while maintaining compatibility with established laboratory workflows.
The Series 6LB Gamma extends these capabilities by integrating a custom gamma scintillation detector, enabling true simultaneous alpha, beta, and gamma measurement within a single system. Detector options include Cesium-Iodide (CsI(TI)) for robust, compact performance. The integrated gamma detection package, with built-in SiPM and MCA, provides a streamlined and rugged solution for advanced laboratory measurements.
In addition, the Series 6LB Gamma supports automated QA sample scheduling and batch inclusion, enabling more efficient and consistent laboratory workflows. Pre-programmed run sequences streamline operations with simple, one-touch starts.
