Description

The NY-10026 is a miniature fission chamber with integral coaxial cable designed for in-core neutron flux mapping with a Teleflex or similar flux mapping system. The miniature ionization chamber has a minimum thermal neutron sensitivity of 1.0 x 10-17 A/nv and a maximum gamma sensitivity of 3.0 x 10-14 A/R/hr.

The chamber and its integral mineral insulated (MI) cable are designed to operate in any orientation at ambient temperatures up to 650°F (343°C). The chamber is provided with an integral mineral insulated coaxial cable floating within a carbon steel drive cable. The drive cable is a multilayered flexible cable with a left-hand helical drive engagement wire. The drive cable length is typically 175 feet (53.3 meters) but custom lengths can be ordered.

The chamber is constructed of stainless steel with high purity aluminum oxide insulators and attached to a mineral insulated cable. The integral MI cable outboard end is transitioned to a flexible RG-174 style coaxial cable which is terminated with a SMC connector.
