Proportional Counter In-line Gas Flow-through

Designed to allow radioactive gas to flow through it during operation (e.g. tritium [a weak β emitter]). The counter is a welded assembly with a stainless steel chamber, centerwire and extension tubes, and employs high purity alumina ceramic insulators. The counter is rugged in construction and may be operated in any orientation at temperatures up to 300°F (150°C).

Description

The WL-24408 is a proportional counter designed to allow radioactive gas to flow through it during operation (e.g. tritium [a weak β emitter]). The counter is a welded assembly with a stainless steel chamber, centerwire and extension tubes, and employs high purity alumina ceramic insulators. The counter is rugged in construction and may be operated in any orientation at temperatures up to 300°F (150°C).

The proportional counter chamber inner surface is electropolished to improve near surface chemistry, and to provide a smooth surface (minimized micro-roughness) to reduce adherence of residues and contamination buildup. Each counter assembly is evaluated for its leak tightness integrity with helium gas and is better than 1.0 x 10-8 std cc/sec.

The proportional counter features 3/8 inch outer diameter offset inlet and outlet gas flow extensions for process gas line connections, and a HN connector for the electrical connection.
