Description

The NY-10846 fission counter is designed to detect thermal neutrons in the flux range of 10 to 106 neutrons/( cm 2 - second). The counter is extremely rugged and will operate in any orientation at temperatures up to 570°F (300° C). This chamber is supplied with a removable ceramic electrical isolation disc on each end.

The counter is constructed of materials having good "neutron transparency" and low neutron activation properties. The thermal sensitivity of this counter is approximately 0.1 cps/nv throughout a wide range of applied voltages.
